Omar al-Bashir and Salvar Kiir agree on security and cooperation

Issued on:

A security and cooperation agreement has been signed between Sudan President Omar al-Bashir and the President of South Sudan, Salva Kiir. Both leaders welcomed the deal, saying it would allow oil production to begin again after it was halted at the start of this year. The agreement, however, did not include important sticking points like oil revenues or demarcation of the border. Adjoa Anyimadu, of the Chatham House thinktank in London, spoke to RFI.
