Multinationals grab African land

Across Africa the issue of land grabbing, a phenomenon some call "the second scramble for Africa", is widespread. Multi-national companies or industrialised countries rent land cheaply and export goods produced on it. And it rarely benefits those on the ground who have been evicted from their land, says Mohamat Lamine Ndiaye from an NGO that is trying to turn the problem into a solution for small farmers, particularly women and young people.
