People gather to mark a thousand days since a massacre killed journalists and civilians in Philippines

One hundred and fifty people gathered in the Philippines on Sunday night for a vigil to mark a thousand days since a massacre left scores of people dead, including journalists. The killings occured in the southern Amatuam region. The government has come under criticism from journalist unions for failing to crack down on continued violence against people in the media. More than a hundred and fifty journalists have been killed in the Philippines since 1986 - the year democracy was reinstated. The National Union of Journalists in the Philippines helped organise the vigil - it's vice chairman, Alwyn Aburo spoke to RFI.
