Most trains running despite French rail strike
Most trains were running on France's rail network on Tuesday despite a strike call against the government's plan to reform the state-owned rail network. Traffic was normal on Tuesday on national TGV high speed trains, regional Paris regional and suburban trains and on inter-regional trains, according to the SNCF French rail company.

Less then 10 per cent of railworkers have followed the CGT union's call for a strike, starting at 7.00pm on Monday night and due to last until 8.00am Wednesday morning, the company said.
SNCF mamangement was due to present its plan to reform the network and to group together its 149,000 employees with the 1,500 ones from the French railway infrastructure operator Réseau Ferré de France to workersd' representatives on Tuesday.
Management says it will make the company more competitive but unions fear it increases the risk of job losses.
