Hollande spent Monday in London meeting with and offering words of encouragement to French athletes. During his visit, he confirmed he would back a bid if “all the condition of success” were present for France.
Paris lost the bid for hosting the summer games in 2008 to Beijing, and then to London for this year. Annecy lost a bid for the 2018 Winter games, which went to Pyeongchang, South Korea.
Although Hollande did not mention an exact city, it is widely expected that he will consider a bid from Paris for the 2024 Summer Games. That year would mark the 100th anniversary of the 1924 Olympics that were held in Paris.
