France remembers victims of Charlie Hebdo attacks

Issued on:

Thousands of people gathered in Place de la République in Paris yesterday morning to remember the victims of last year's terrorist attacks in France. French President, François Hollande, sat alongside the survivors and families of the victims who were invited to attend a commemoration service by the Paris City Council. The service, which included singing from the French Army Choir and the French singer, Johnny Hallyday, recalled the mass demonstrations that took place across the country following the Charlie Hebdo attacks. RFI's Karen Burke was at La Place de la Republique for the event.
